CHAPTER 2 - SUMMARIZATION OF THE ADVANTAGES OF COMPUTER ASSISTED SUBSTANCE ABUSE PROGRAM PROTOTYPES OVER CONVENTIONAL PROGRAM FORMATS.

Computer assisted prototypes provide for low cost, high volume comprehensive programming designed specifically for use with difficult inmate populations. These systems have the capability of bringing denied problems clearly into inmate awareness while at the same time outlining solutions.

Unique to their design is their ability to process very high volumes of students and objectively measure what is learned by each inmate. These programs also provide immediate feedback as to test performance.

Unlike conventionally tested programs, this system automatically randomizes each test to prevent inmate cheating by scrambling both the order of test question presentation and the order of multiple choice test question answers. This double randomization makes it virtually impossible for inmates to cheat forcing them to attend to and learn rehabilitation oriented programmed material.
