Mr. Don Siegleman
Governor of Alabama
600 Dexter Avenue
Montgomery, AL 36104

Dear Governor:

I have know Patrick Swiney all of his life.He went to my Sunday School as a child and I have remained in contact with him all these years.I wholeheartedly support Patrick being released from prison. He is a good Christian and an honest man. They say he committed capital murder, but that has never rested in my mind as the absolute truth because I know Patrick.I know his heart. He would never hurt anyone.I was shocked when this awful tragedy happened in 1987, and even more shocked when they said Patrick was responsible.I'm not that familiar with the case and did not attend the trial, but I have always believed in my heart that something was terribly wrong about this conviction.Recently, I have seen the State Forensic Lab report that shows that Patrick was not the shooter in this case.I have also read the ballistic expert's report which confirms that Patrick could not have been the shooter.

I think somebody's hiding the truth about who killed Patrick's wife and her ex-husband, and I know it isn't Patrick.I am praying that justice comes to Patrick so that he can be freed from prison very soon. He's not a well man. They haven't given him the medical care he needs. When he is freed, his family will be able to help him recover from the mistreatment he has received in prison these past 11 years.Like Job, his time in bondage is due to end.

I also believe in my heart that it isn't going to be long before the Lord Jesus Christ will come and take his Bride out of the old world and nothing will be able to stop that. I continue to tell Patrick to keep his faith in the Lord and don't let anything stop him from loving Him.For I know He loves Patrick dearly. We love him too.We are all counting on the Lord to finally bring justice to our brother and dear friend.

Please use your worldly powers in any way you can to set Patrick free from that awful dungeon where he does not and never did belong.

Yours in Christ,

Reverend Frank and Elouise Standifer
